Good morning everyone! :hugs :frow

Time to get some coffee flowing , and for the roosters to start singing!

Paddy made it through yet another night! Both of the chicks are doing good, and seem to be progressing, or at least getting in sone wing feathers. I started taking their weight this morning to be sure they are growing properly. A suggestion given to me by @casportpony, thank you.

One thing I have not witnessed is Paddy taking a poop. I've seen it's crop get larger and smaller, plus the fact it's still alive makes me thinks it's pooping okay though.

Paddy is so tiny! Hopefully she'll put on weight daily.

So I've been so busy focusing on Paddy, I've barley talked about the O Shamo. Hey guys... I've got a freaking O Shamo! This one seems much more lively than the last couple of chicks.

Okay, now it's time for some coffee!

Well it's been a good morning so far. I woke up early and got a bit of a head start on everything.

I've come to realize it's better to have the ducks food out and waiting on them than it is to try and walk through them with empty pans in my hands. At one time they'd just form like a traffic pattern around me, but keep moving so I could walk. The last few weeks it's been more like a traffic jam. I almost feel like I'm being held up for some feed! I had to toss one of their dishes a few feet to get them to make a path. They chased that dish down like a pack of starving coons!

A bunch of Quacks they are!

So today is day one trial to see if Pearl, Flip, Flop, and General can get along as a flock. So far it looks to be going good. They've been out together for a good hour now, and no fighting. General did get his mourning grab on Pearl, but there's still no hybrid eggs to speak of. ;) I placed the fountain dish with ramp out for them. In the pictures it's got ~3/4 gallon of a nutri-drench mix, but I filled it will water after everyone got a drink. Pearl was funny to watch. She was the first one to check out the dish, and put that long neck to use. She really is funny to watch, and to be honest much quieter than I had expected. She can cry/scream very loud and consistently let if she wants, but I only hear that 1-2 times a week. Most of the time I hear her get upset is because I've taken either a Silkie or General out of her sight. She's actually the main reason I think this flock will work out pretty good.

It was raining on one side of the road and not on the other again.

We'll take some of that rain please!!

Well sounds like Pearl has her little family and enjoys their company. That's very sweet. Hope all your boys can get along. What funny here is Adam my 3 yr old OEGB roo is now tiny compared to my 4 month old Cochin bantam roos [all fluff of course] But all he has to do is look at them and they haul tail. My old Game roo just hangs out with the ladies that was my reason for picking him 10 yrs ago out of his 3 other brothers. He was the ladies man and the others spent their day beating the poop out of each other.
