Morning friends! Any tips on finding a duck nest?? I'm pretty certain Fraggles is laying, a couple weeks ago I found some soft shells in the middle of the yard that had to have come from her...but since then nothing:th I have suspicions she could be laying them up under our bottom deck which is not high off the ground (just enough for a duck to squeeze under) Hopefully not, because hers are most likely fertile, and it would be impossible for me to get to them...
Fun times today hunting eggs!

Morning y'all! I want to personally thank you for giving me chicken fever! I just informed the hubs that he will need to building me a chicken coop for the spring. If I can wait that long. I probably won't be doing chicks because we have so much on our plate right now but I miss having them around so why not just get my own, right? I have a friend in the poultry business at her farm so I am sure she will hook me up. :fl
Yay! Do you know what breeds you might get?

I don't know yet. I really did love those fluff butts like my neighbor has. He gave some eggs to another of our neighbors last year for meat birds. Well needless to say he gave us a processed bird and instead of turkey we had roasted chicken. That sucker was 12 pounds. We have another one in our freezer for this Thanksgiving. Now I would not personally be raising them to eat unless we had a problem rooster or something like that but they were fun to have around and to me they were beautiful. I like the feathers on their feet. But I am open to suggestions. These were just really friendly birds especially the Welsummer rooster. I am sure I will be all over the place by the time I get them. Patience is not my strongest virtue.
