Between scratch, mealworms, and wild caught minnows, everyone was spoiled this afternoon.

All 5 of the newly adopted chickens went bonkers for minnows. I mean I thought I was going to lose a finger!

I think Nibbler is going to have to be rehomed. :(
He's actually my favorite of the two Damps, but he's got a bit of a mean streak. Mean might not even be the right word, he's actually really people pleasant, but bird aggressive.

Now I'll admit, I've never remembered the other fellas name. I think im going to rename him. He's people pleasant too, just not as charismatic as Nibbler, but he's very easy going with the other birds. Not one sign of aggression. He's good at sharing food and water with small and young chickens, Nibbler is not. Neither of them freak out when I approach them, but bird X let's me walk right up and touch him. He's also good with inspections. Only thing he fought me on was looking down his throat, which seems pretty normal to me. We can test this. Try to stick your fingers in my mouth.:D:lol::D:lol::D

Frost and snow?! Already? I sweat through a shirt just tossing some scratch out.

That stinks you've been so busy, but it sure does sound like you've gotten a lot done.

Do you guys skin our pluck the ducks?
It snowed some more today, too. :hmm
Aww, I miss summer.

Sometimes we pluck the ducks and sometimes we skin them, it just kinda depends on the circumstances. Yesterday I skinned them.

I know there's a lot of distance between us, but it blows my mind to think it's that cold already.

So when the ducks are skinned, how do you normally cook them? Is it much different that a duck with skin?

We have a winter weather advisory for tonight and the low for tonight is 28*F. :th

Yes, skinned or not, we cook them the same.
We usually roast them in the oven, but sometimes we cook them in the pressure cooker.
