Well I don't think Paddy is going to make it through the day. I'm not surewhat happened, but when I checked on them Paddy was spread out like she was sun bathing. One wing and leg stretched out with the other leg behind her. She's barely responsive and won't open her eyes.

When I picked her up she was cold. I put her in a pan and under the heat lamp. I also mixed up some nutri-drench and syringe feed her 1cc. Her crop was also still full from yesterday

1 hour update (forget to post the above)
She's still not looking good, but is a bit more responsive. She is warm, and able to lift head up, but still not opening her eyes. She's breathing more/deeper. I can actually see her body expand and contrast now.

I can't find any signs of physical trauma. I haven't seen any strange poops either. Im not really sure what happened.
:(

:lau were to get a high of 63 this afternoon.

How are those chicks doing? and the rest of the flock in those cold temps outside? :p
Besides Paddy, everyone is doing great.
Yes the rest are outside, or at least not in an insulated building.

The young LF birds found the trailer this morning and all perched on it. It was pretty cute because they spread out and had a couple of birds on each side.

So sorry Chris, I too hope she rebounds...

You have new chicks Bob? And we have not seen them?
They're about three weeks old now. I posted pics when they hatched.:D I'll try to remember to get one this evening. I lost a bunch during our first cold snap. One of the reasons I don't hatch this late in the year. These were supposedly sold, but the guy disappeared and never came to pick them up.

What a bummer about the loss and the buyer disappearing. I know not a good time to hatch unless it’s 67 and in Florida ;) One time my OEGB went out and laid her eggs in the flower bed in Sept I found her an the nest and made her a comfy place inside the coop she hatched her chicks in Oct we had a very cold Oct that year and she enjoyed the heat lamp I put up for her an chicks. That was the last time for anything to hatch this late although I have two Cochin bantams that are broody. Silly things.

Paddy is a chicken right?

Is she between 15 and 30 weeks old?

Not trying to be a bird illness genius, but that sounds like classic Maraks. I hope it’s not. Because if it is, you can figure on losing a bunch more if they weren’t vaccinated.

fingers crossed it isn’t.:fl

Temp wise we beat you southies.. 45 here:wee
