I’m sorry Chris hope you begin to feel better as the day progresses. You got Quail too? Well Congrats!! :hugs
Thanks Patti.
I got 5 quail from a breeder a town away. He had quite the setup, and wants to sell it all.

I went in with a $20 order and he tried selling me over 300 birds, 2 cabinet incubators, a 4x4x6- 6 tier brooder and 4x4x- 3 tier grow out pin, 3 breeder pins, and 200# of feed for $1,500. 300 of those quail still start laying in the next 2 weeks, and 75 are breeders.

He was an older gentleman, maybe 70+ and I think he was just done breeding.

Not a bad investment if that's what you're looking for.

This is the cockerel. All the mammals wanted to see him too lol.

I'll try and get pictures of the rest in the next day or so.

I saw this little thing while running errands yesterday. I don't know what it is, but it's colors and patterning are very sharp looking. It couldn't have been more than 3 inches long.

Wow get into something like that an you could probably sell quail to high end restaurants. Pretty colors. Can you just let them run around with the other birds? That’s a cute little bird you saw maybe some kind of sparrow.
No, they are going to be kept secured. I'm considering the parrot coop since its about time for the juvenile LF to move on up to something bigger. I just need to make sure the bars are not too far apart for them.

Now that I understand a little bit (and I mean a little) about how feather coloring works, I find myself looking at all kinds of birds. That little one was only there for a few seconds, but I sure did enjoy seeing him.

The dogs know something is wrong. I love how animals are so tuned in to the ones they love. Haha, even the chicken gave me an easy time today. I can't keep Dino out of my lap today. Not like our bothers me though. He makes a great snuggle buddy.

Here he is looking at the chicks. Im surprised how calm he is at the brooder. He gets pretty excited if you bring a single bird to him, but just stands there at the brood watching them. I was right begging him just in case.

If anybody is wondering what's up with my crazy hair. Xaiden wants to grow his hair out, but he's concerned about people making fun of him. So I'm growing my hair out with him. I have very textured hair, and this is just kind of what it does until it fits into a ponytail.

Hey dad got a 20? lol. He’s such a sweet boy and really cool how calm he is standing there watching. When we got our last mini dachshund we had no idea he would bond so close with Al ( my dh) he is really b like a service dog that just happened to fall into it. But we say that Al is also Danny’s service human because he needs Al as much as Al needs him he will be 10 in Dec.

Danny sounds like a pretty awesome little guy to have around. Do you have any pictures of him?
