Wow, how big were they?Good Morning!!
In Florida where I grew up they were even known to snatch kittens.
Very pretty, that EE has cute cheeksY'all had me rolling with Fake Ellen!
Good morning everyone! I hope the weekend was fair for everyone. I was busy to say the least. I got in total 10 chickens. There are the 2 Eng Orph's, 1 dark red frizzle bantam Cochin roo, and 7 older/retired hens (2-4 years old).
Nibbler is in the works of being rehomed, along with one of the Silkie cockerels.
By the time quarantine and "see no touch"are over, the male female ratios should be much much better.
The older girls consist of...
2 Black Sexlinks
1 EE
2 RIR
2 "mutts" (i think)
I'll be honest, this is not the flock I wasn't. For the time however, it should help improve the flock dynamic. There is a breeder that will be retiring a flock of Black Copper Marans in the next 1-2 months, and at that time I hope to shift some birds around.

Aww poor guy. I once had a bird build a nest on my porch's roof, the nest was messy and small and she had 8 eggs, 7 hatched. The nest got infected with mites and the mom left the babies their. Eventually they all started falling out and something got and ate all of them.I had a small wood pecker fly into the glass door on my porch the other day so I just ordered some twirly things off Amazon that I can hang out there to deter that from happening he didn't fly off sadly.![]()
Aww poor birds.Aww that's sad. We have bird houses up all over for the birds. I had a little wren hatch out some babies inside the birds property none made it past fledging. I was so sad for that mama.
Huh. . wow. I didn't doubt they would eat meat but I've never seen one attack and try to kill anything. They are fierce protectors of their nests and babies. I love watching them dive bomb the squirrels and knock them off the fence.
Beautiful new birds, Trim!Y'all had me rolling with Fake Ellen!
