I'd rather be a slave to a guinea than a dux hater like you, I love being with dux because at least they know how to love and aren't as nearly as annoying as you and your blue jays

I'm sorry about that, Patti. The woodpeckers here are some of my favorites. Hopefully the whirly'gigs do the job.

I just had a woodpecker on my new steps!!! Trying to punch holes in my mini turrets!!! I called him bad names.

Phew, that girls cheeks wrap around to form a very thick neck! I'm not sure if that normal, but it sure is noticeable, all fluff of course.

My EE doesn't have nearly as much fluff, hope it is normal because she sure is pretty.

Someone mentioned having to listen to the crows in the morning... After this spring those crows, crowing have been like music to my ears. The hawks have almost completely dispersed. There is one that comes back every morning and perches in my neighbors pine tree. The tree is a good 20' taller than the rest and makes a great look out place. Yesterday, I watched a bunch of crows chase that one hawk off, and when they flew by, one stopped and perched in the hawks spot. It's the only time I've seen a different bird than the hawk on that branch. I swear that one crow looked like it was strutting "I'm the king of the pine!" I'd totally give that crow a treat if it's stick around.

I encourage crows by throwing found eggs and birds in a compost pile near the barn so they can feast on them..

Eagles and hawks are terrible here..

as far as Jays go, I like them while I am hunting, I stay put and wait for deer to walk by.. a Jay can alert me to a deer moving.

I say the opposite, yes we build the coops, feed them, and give them treats but us humans have a secret weapon.. NETS or just being picked up and being locked in their coops

We can control them Dux will eventually take over every dux haters yard and then make you fall in love with those lovable faces of theirs

If you ever get bored... Grab a mason jar, the bigger the better. Fill it with feed, and seal with the lid. Walk in the middle of the yard, let a bird call out, and leave the jar in the yard. The birds will swarm like a group of hungry wolverines. Took almost 10 minutes for the flock to break up the group.
