I’d wrap him In a large towel to work on his foot I lay them so the are on their back with their butt facing away from me lift the foot up so you can get to the scab worked on

No, not loose yet. I'll try but every time I offer him normal water he shakes his head and drinks from the dang bucket.. then bites my hair He isn't the easiest patient so I'll give him more time. When the water starts getting cold should I put more warm water in?

He can't use that foot so it is up.. he won't even put it down. When should I start working on it?

No just soak till water goes cold. Soaking will help soften the scab
