If you can keep them dry they probably won't need a heat lamp. But since they aren't as water proof as others they do seem to get icy.

It doesn’t hurt anything to have supplemented heat though.

No as long as it's not going from warm an toasty to very frigid temps outside. I keep a small sweeter heater going for my oldest but I don't think she uses it.

My Runners actually taught my Muscovy it's okay to go inside when temps are frigid. They use to just hunker down behind things. But if you give your birds treats whole corn or scratch would be good for afternoon it helps them stay warmer at night.
