I'm not feeling too good today. It started with a head ache but now I've got bad body aches and feel feverish. Ughh... no temperature but it sure feels like there should be.

Uh oh. I hope not the flu.

I'll be serving the cockerel I harvested. I'm not telling anyone it was him, I'm just going to wait and see who realize we didn't have "prepared" chicken in the fridge. I deboned the whole thing too. Nothing recognizable... Carcass and bones went to make stock/soup. I left a lot of meat on the carcass in general. These are the parts I stripped for tonight food. It had pretty small breast, but the dark meat was a beautiful color when I cut in to it.

Lol, I doubt it. They all pretty much leave me be to do my chicken things. I do all the harvesting behind the shack, so nobody ever even sees me do it either.

Now, I did explain to Xaiden what I was doing the other day, and he did see the cockerel carcass, but not the actual butchering. I was proud of hin. At first here said "dad that's gross" but after explaining why it was not gross, he was on board for eating home raised chicken.

That's a nice walk. Enough to get the blood flowing, see some beautiful sights, and get home before you're completely drenched in sweat.

The Brahma and Polish chicks are enjoying some freedom! I'll let them free range with the bantams four about the next month. Let them get some size on them and learn to deal with adult birds before integrating them with the large fowls.
