ok I try hard not to be that guy, but these birds, if they are really prairie chickens are e ndangered. I wouldn't think you could buy eggs. I would love to have some on my land to keep TXDOT from taking it, but I suspect this might be a sting of some sort.
In Texas, you don't need a permit for Greater Prairie chickens, as they are not endemic to Texas anymore...at one time they were but have been exterminated. The Lesser Prairie and the Attwater Prairie chicken are the only 2 species left in Texas and both are protected, and the Attwater is endangered listed.

Thanks for the information. So you can really get Prarie chicken, I know they are grouse, ethe legally? Could I g et Atwaters? My land is pretty good for them. I thought they were highly endangered with just a few left in th e wild.

There are only a handful of breeders in the U.S. I personally only know of 3 breeders.
I was actually looking at chicken eggs, and I just came by them. In general I'm not looking for any pheasants, but mainly because I already know who I could go to and trust for that ;)
If they cost that much on a regular basis though, you can pretty much guarantee I won't be bugging you about getting any eggs, LOL. 🤪🤑🤪

Nope, nada, ain't gonna happen, Attwaters are on the endangered list.
In order to do that you would have to build facilities to meet federal regulations/criteria. And obtain a non profit status such as a zoo or preservation society.

Now that's a dinosaur looking bird!!! There are some pretty amazing chickens out there.

This is how close my runners got today.
