I read about them crossing. Crossing with wolves or dogs depending where they are. Crazy like fox crazy? Or an entirely different crazy?
I doubt there is much real crossing with wolves...
We have lots of wolves up here...

The pack at my cabin is 28 wolves. Wolves are huge compared to coyotes. Wolves consider coyotes a light snack.

Coyotes are relatively solitary animals. With packs being mainly a family unit. A large pack of coyotes is 6.
Coyotes are the black sheep of the canine family. Dogs hate them, wolves hate them. There is more chance of a wolf dog hybrid than a coyote anything hybrid in the wild.

I wish wolves would catch a fatal venereal disease and die off. They are an apex predator here, with no controls on their numbers.

We had a season on them a couple years ago but ( not intending to sound judgemental) a lot of good people living in the metropolitan area of the Twin Cities believing the hogwash about the noble wolf put an end to it.

Now they run rampant, the deer numbers are extremely low in wolf areas, moose are nearly non-existent, most the elk are gone as our the woodland caribou. ( Yep I am from a very wild area)..

My wife and I raised sheep for several years. It ended when a pack of wolves killed over 200 sheep in less than a month. Yep, they eat all of sheep and waste very little. But we paid for their mutton meals.

I was willing to risk jail and a huge fine to kill them. They are like killing an eagle. A person would do less prison time for murdering a spouse than shooting a wolf.

A dead wolf was found on our property from an apparent suicide. He had a single bullet hole in his heart. I was questioned on and off about that poor dead wolf...

I had nothing to do with it.. however, when I got wind of who did it, I dropped him off a bottle of his favorite drink..

for the record, I hate wolves more than dux!

Boy this guy was really on a rant today. They have devastated goats, deer and poultry an pets here. Coyotes that is. It’s a very eerie feeling when they sound off around here. Because you don’t know they are there until you hear them. We had wolf sanctuary the next county over and never knew one had escaped until last year when a wolf dog was killed on a roadway and they suspect that is what it was.

Very interesting @duluthralphie are they still close to your house? Do they bother with birds or just look for bigger meals?

I'm not aware of any wolves in our area but the coyotes are starting to get out of hand. They've taken down quite a few people's livestock. The farmers will actually pay you per coyote to come out and hunt them. Luckily they aren't protected like the wolves.

You have grey wolves? Any Red?

Rooster patrol @Trimurtisan
I'd say BlackRedKiller is a bit suspicious...
He said himself his Cock s a good fighter, he seems a little more than suspicious.

Have Y'all ever dealt with bobcats and fishers? They're awful, oh and don't forget raccoons and foxes! These are my worst predators. I've never had to deal with Coyotes but we have them.
