Good day everyone!

I hope y'all day is going well. Been busy here managing the birds and life. I took a small road trip this morning to pick up some ducklings, and grabbed a few chicks too while there. The ducklings (10) are KC & KC/ Rouen, while the chicks (3) are NN.

I alerted the a-frame the d'Uccle are in. Added a HWC window, raised the roost, added a ramp, and raised the door. I also added a triangle board piece to one side to produce a bit more shade in the heat of the day.

The window. There is plenty if ventilation, but wasn't a much light, so now it should be a little bit better.

The ramp just hooks over the roost making it easier to use on the uneven ground here.

I raised to the door try and redirect as much rain down the door. The gap that is down here...

Was up here on the top, which is now pretty tight.

I was originally going to add a lip for the door to "lock" in to, but the door turned out to be around 35lbs, so I didn't feel the need to lock it in. It's flush cut and already a pain in the butt to open for me, doubt a coon would be able to do it.

Here are what the d'Uccle trio is looking like. They sure are cute to have around.

Morning everyone! Our state got put in stage one lock down today with schools still open... so that means... business as usual here in the bush! Love watching your coop renos Chris. Those D'uccles are so pretty! Remind me of candy corn

Building a 6'x3' chick brooder in the shack. I've got the walls made, and working on the frame now. Still need to make some kind of a screen covered lid. I've got a bunch of chicks on their way.

Thanks, Wunda. In the next 2 days I'll have 2 more brooders up and running. One measuring roughly 180cm x 90cm for the Crevecoeur and one measuring 240 cm x 90cm for the mixed cockerels. Both about 90cm tall.

Good to hear it's business as usual. Pretty much is here too. My general lifestyle keeps my "socially distant" already. Not much has changed here.

These 2 are Runner x Ancona crosses. They have the Runner stance but their feet/bill are mottled like the Ancona. Very cute, the gray one particularly catches my eye.
