I know, not really happy about the crested drake but he needed a home. I won't hatch from him but he's cute.and seems to be fitting in well.

Crested is actually dominant But, it's a fairly common spontaneous mutation, too. So, a duck can't be carrying crested genes without being crested, but it can pop up out of nowhere as a spontaneous mutation, and it's not uncommon for that to happen.

I adopted two ducks today. One crested Pekin drake and one Rouen hen.

Of the ten we hatched here, two have been crested and one partially. None had the same mother.
