He passed away

I found in his neck the source of the maggots. He had a nasty wound in the base of his neck that was infested. I clipped the feathers away from it and flushed it with peroxide. However, I think they may have eaten clear to his crop, because about a minute after I began the flush, he started to vomit up all the food I had tubed him, and then he passed away.

Poor Loaf. Ritz at least will get to join my flock of pekin girls. Had I not taken them in, Loaf would have died anyway, and Ritz would have been alone.
