Way off subject.... but..... have any of you ever tried to dehydrate salsa?


I have been having fresh salsa/pico from the garden and it’s so good and addicting.

I want to make some for winter, but canning it ruins the taste, so I wondered about drying it?

Give it a try on a small batch Ralphie. You won't like the appearance but it might work. I would think freeze drying would be better but the machines are so big and expensive.

I canned a bunch and it's great. How does your canning ruin the taste? Maybe I can help. I can a lot.

Yes it does seem like the countrys just addmitted defeat so lets just suck it up and go all in! How are you finding work? Customers behaving? Have you been screaming at them in streets to scare them off?

Customers are weird, that's all I can say. Most of them are behaving, at least. But as for the ones that aren't:

The town my store is in passed a mask order, and then a couple days later the state did, so now it's required. We're going above what other places do and actually have disposable masks in our entryway that we are giving away to customers.

But the fact that we have so many customers showing up without masks and needing to take one is stupid - they know the law, so if we weren't giving them away I have to assume they were just going to try to come in without one. A lot of them pretend they don't see the million signs we have up or the free masks and we have to stop them and make them go put one on.

It's like they're toddlers or something, honestly. Wearing a mask for ten minutes in a store isn't going to kill you. Some of them even lie that they have medical conditions preventing them from wearing one. And they're crappy liars so you can tell they're lying, lol. Not that we can say anything about it, which sucks.

Some people really do have medical conditions, so I don't begrudge them not wearing one, but honestly? If you have a medical condition that makes it so you can't breathe in a mask for ten minutes, just maybe you ought to be doing curbside pickup and not coming into a store without a mask and risking contracting a virus that goes after the lungs...

I've been working on getting one for 3 years. Circumstances changed and I had to cancel the lay a way. Needed the cash. So not one in my future anymore.
