That could have been »Top Gear« when they drove to the north pole in some Toyota trucks.I remember something about a show maybe on discovery where they drive semis across the ice to get to certain places up north? No way I'd do that. I'll just remain a southie

Some people don't have fence posts! Why do we even listen to them, long time ago a local weather man said what ever it says on your fence post is what it is.
You would be surprised: I am a boomer, and we had real Winters in Germany in the 60's and 70's. Our summertime water-hole was frozen every winter thick enough to drive a car over it. Nothing bad happened until the imbecile with the spike tires tried to make donuts…Yes, people live in them a week or two at time..
No, they do not float.
They are safe, and will not go through the ice, as long as it’s thick enough. Our ice does not disappear overnight or even over a week. It will be safe to drive or camp on for 3 more months.
We have 16 inches of ice now, by the first of March we will have 3 ft or more ice.
My auger drills holes 3 1/2 feet. Most years, before the winter is over, I need to add a 18 inch extension to get through the ice.
It would be fun to take you fishing. Southies reaction to freezing ice on a cold day or night is lots of fun for us. When a lake is making ice, you hear lots of noises, bangs, cracking sounds, and almost thunder like roars coming from the lakes. Southies think the ice is breaking when it is actually growing.
We are still bone dry here in WV.We had an inch, and it snowed off an on all day but temps got to 37 so nothing laid. It's okay with me though dealing with the ice after snow gets packed down isn't alot of fun.
My local feed store has baby rabbits they are calling New Zeeland rabbits. Any idea what these are? They are all different colors.
You guys know the joke about the little girl at the pet store wanting to buy a wabbit? From afew threads I've seen they are a type of meat rabbit. One of the best apparently. But sure they can be pets
Don't forget, @Muscovy Wunda ist talking about Australian Dollars: One US-Dollar equals 1.29 Australian Dollar.Holy crap that's expensive.
By that logic they should only be $32. Think it has alot more to do with we get paid one of the highest wages thus pay some of the highest prices for goods. I know plenty that have jumped the ditch to NZ because it's far more affordableDon't forget, @Muscovy Wunda ist talking about Australian Dollars: One US-Dollar equals 1.29 Australian Dollar.
