as you can see the size of it next to a fleeing Spud dog, this bit of lumber would easily weight 40kg or 88lbs if preferred. this fell about 3 metres, on a perfect weather day. So you can see the tree,

those black scaly bits are called burls, made by bugs and or cockys. They weaken limbs and causes them to drop from the tree whenever they just give in. And just a final reminder, never park under a gum tree, it may not be so small (this ones called the widow maker, thanks google!)

Is there anything you can't own over there? Yeah they are deadly. There's no off season. They will cut you just for the sake of cutting. They are probably our version of a hippo. That's the only way I can explain their territorialness. But so cool to look at from a safe space

Native species need a permit or just can't be kept at all. Some states don't allow the keeping of some exotics, like I couldn't keep a lion. But in Texas you could! So it varies by state.

And some states have a list of banned animals because they could become invasive species, like a certain kind of cockroach that's commonly used to feed reptiles isn't allowed in Florida, for example.
