Happy New year to you and everyone. A worrisome day; January 1st, 73 F, more severe storms and tornadoes possible, 100% chance of heavy rains, flood watch, and... Not good.

January and I fed the animals wearing just shorts. Just crazy! We just had severe weather and power outages with heavy damage and deaths. For those not in the south-east, remember us in your prayers and well-wishes.

My little dog is in labor that has gone on longer than usual. My wife says there isn't anything to worry about-yet. I hope she's right. Kimmi is great with the animals and has experience as a vet assistant.

The phoenix hen is not better, or worse. It's hard to know what to do for her. I think a mild antibiotic may be helpful. I think we'll try ACV.

Sorry for the negative post. It does help to type this as it gives my mind something to do. I'm afraid the new year isn't going to have a good start; a bad omen for the times to come.
Stay safe out there. If memory serves, you're only about 3 hours south of me. We got the wind and rain, but the tornado watch ended at 7:30 this morning. Try to have a good day.

Aww I bet that is so cool watching mama Serama and her chicks.

My EE hen is 9 yrs old and has had crop issues in the past which I gave Ducolax for and she got over it. I'm not sure if she is just old now and crop isn't emptying or she maybe just starting to die. I gave her Ducolax last night and her crop wasn't full this morning but I don't think she is eating much. It's so hard to know what to do for them when they can't tell us what is wrong. She is my last EE I started out with 8.

I hope mama Chichuaua has her first pup soon and hope you'll share pics too. Of all the babies.

I hope these storms are like the last ones that went through.

It is. Her first successful hatch. A tiny hen so I gave her just three eggs to brood; two hatched.

Good luck.

First puppy was just born; 12:20 a big girl. Delivery should go fast now.

So far they've been to the north, but it is getting dark now.
