That's amazing my Muscovy make up for not brooding fall and winter once spring hits.
They are 9-10 yes old so we'll see what this year brings. And our female who will be 14 in Feb.
We got our first snow too. wet and clinging to eveything. they were calling for 4-8" but the ground isn't frozen so most of it melted that fell on the ground.

Good Morning all,

I have another phoenix ill today; a respiratory issue-breathing is raspy and loud, but getting better now that she is in the house, warm, and dry.

I've been putting 1 tablespoon of ACV in a gallon of water as it says online. Does that sound right to you? Can that be increased safely? Any suggestions for aiding the pullet in her hard breathing?

Vet RX is suppose to be good a drop under each wing and a swipe across the nares. Not a wet where it runs into the nares. It's like vicks but for poultry.

2 tablespoons is acceptable in a gallon of water. I never have used more than 2 Tablespoons.

I hope your little Phoenix feel better.

Maybe others have used something else hopefully they will let you know.

Thank you for the reply; it is appreciated. Betty's nest was full of water again, so I candled. Unbelievably ten eggs are still alive. I gave her a whole new, dry nest (dog carrier).
Tough eggs! Twice they sat in/under cold water.

i hope every one survived the storms this week end we actually had a quick tornado hit some buildings in Hopkinsville no injures .there wasn't even a warning just came out of no ware . got snow yesterday . my place is all mud grr. the geese love it lol.

Apparently the dog carrier had a hole in the bottom as it's the only way water could have gotten in. I wish I could have thought better yesterday and realized there had to be a hole. Then the eggs wouldn't have got wet a second time. Betty and her eggs are now in a new carrier. I'll candle again tomorrow to make sure the eggs are still viable.

Now for the ailing pullet. I can't read the tiny type on the container and do not remember. If I put the drop on my finger to put under the wings and to rub a bit near the nares, would that suffice? A drop for each wing and another drop carefully applied near the nostrils?

This is very upsetting; one of my best two pullets-crap!

I just use the bottle and drop under each wing, do it how it's easy for you. I keep droppers from bottles I buy to use for other meds if I need too. I use a qtip to swipe across the nares that keeps it from running down into the nares. it has to be warmed before use.

To warm open cap, put the bottle into a small pan of water, heat at med temp, always test before use.
1 teaspoon to a very warm cup of water, it says vetrx mixes with warm water but lays on the top of cold.
You can also place a few drops right down the throat of your hens. also rub it over their heads and under their wings.it says you can even mix it stronger 1 teaspoon to half cup warm water swab throat and wash heads and eyes 4-5 times a day.
It says you can use it in cold water it will float on top and and get on the beaks and nostrils of the birds as they drink.
there is other directions too. flock care and use for a vaporizer for show birds so let me know if you need more directions.
