Ditto.

I mean, greetings to all.

The rain and gloom has returned. High today of 14c.
Yes, fall is here too!
Temperatures around 20° during the day and around 10° overnight. Had to turn on the heating for the first time on Saturday evening. Fortunately no rain in the foreseeable forecast with the exception of what that Hurricane will do…

Mine was good! I took the puppy out to a short trail and we walked that. I had thought I might do more work on the emu pasture but decided to just take a day and hang out. Sounds like you did a bunch of hard work!
I did! And worked even harder on Sunday: The grass here has grown surprisingly tall again and i like to take the opportunity to make some additional hay for the ducks.
And i still have ~40 strawberry plants that need a good home…

Good morning / evening folks :frow

Sunday night something in my esophagus ruptured and I started bleeding internally. Monday morning I was so weak we had to call 911. I spent a day in the ER, two in ICU and two in general population. But they fixed it and I'm recovering well. I'm still a little weak, but getting better quickly.
Wow! - A rupture in the esophagus, wasn't that extremely painful?
I'm suffering from acid reflux and that sometimes is so painful that i cannot work at all, have to lay down and wait for the medications to start working...
I hope you get well very soon! Please take care of yourself!

Hope everyone has a great Sunday today! Ducklings sure are, them and our bigger ducks are getting along better everyday now! They do still have their own separate flocks, but the ducklings are starting to not be so skittish when the big ducks come by to check them out. Seems as they are being more accepted by the adults. Seems putting them together where Hope can see them, but not go after them has calmed her down also. Haven’t had to separate them in the yard in two days now, and they even have started getting fairly close when they all nap, which three days ago was unacceptable and was met with serious protests from the big guys. Here is a picture of the babies for their second swim this morning, and actually as I write this they got back in and are going at it again. Hope decided to come say Hello also when I started writing this, demanding some attention, so a picture of her also lol.
Interesting! - Here it is usually the other way around: The grown up ducks are terrified by the little ducklings and run for the hills. Fighting only breaks out during the ducknager state when the young ducks actively try to "invade" the flock.

I could really use another Sunday here!
I dug up another bed for the remaining strawberry plants

Today i will remove half of that loam - i might use some of it for pottery, always wanted to try this - and mix the rest with crude wood chips, then fill the bed up with a mix of fine wood chips and compost soil. Then next weekend i can plant the remaining strawberry plants.

Somehow the grass has grown extremely tall again here, i assume due to the heavy rains in August, followed by long periods of sunshine. If i don't mow it, it'll become a fire hazard in early winter. And i can use the opportunity to produce some additional hay for the ducks:

Speaking of ducks, the ducknagers were joining me while i was mowing the grass with a noisy hedge trimmer (still don't have a sickle bar mower) and i smelled them behind my back! Are there duck breeds that are smellier than others?

Here are the rascals, sifting through the cut grass, searching for insects and seeds:

There is so much grass left to mow, this will take the whole week…

So i could really use another Sunday!
