Could this be from the Mallard mating with one of your drakes? Looks like it might have mixed blood in it. Very pretty.
I have seen Mr. Mallard mating with the Runner ducks, but have never seen one of my drakes - which are all very heavy - mating a Mallard duck.
Also i never had to scrape a flat Mallard from the ground…
But who knows? Maybe Mr. Limpy? Hes is about the same weight as a Mallard drake…
 
What we need is some fall pictures to show off. So everyone get busy and share This is at our home in Western NC . We’re so dry trees are turning fast.

But the weirdness continued! After i scooped up the last bits of duck poop drenched wood from the run it looked like this:

Notice the fissure line in the center of the floor, it caused a rare quackological phenomenon and when i came back, Mount Quackatubo has erupted in my duck's run, spitting out fountains of fresh wood-chips for the ducks to poop on:

The quackcano predictions center has issued an eggruption warning for tomorrow morning...
