I'm sad to say my 13.5 yr old rooster died this morning. He just wore out, he has been inside with us since last Friday so he had a very peaceful passing with out anyone harassing him.
RIP Rufus 8-1-2009 to March 8th 2023.

I'm so sorry to hear that! That is a ripe old age, and I'm sure he had the best life a chicken could ask for.

I very much wish I could. She had a large peach orchard, raspberry patch, black cherries. Nectarines and plums oh and grapes. When she died her son came in the next week and bulldozed all down. I cried.

I did so too, when we had to cut down these cherry trees after they became infected with a black fungus...
I'm trying to re-build a part of my childhood here...

So my last duckling out was really slow. She was way behind her eggmates. When she finally came out I didnt think she would make it. I left her for hours in the incubator. She couldn't even raise her head. After about 8 hours my hubs said is she still alive. I took the egg candles light to shine on her to see if she was breathing and he said " dont go into the light Carole Ann. So now she's doing great and has a name. You will have to have seen the movie Poltergeist to get the reference.

Those are the next most popular fruit tree

I will have to find some to plant here. First the ducks will love the fruits and maybe even young leaves and second the bird prefer mulberries over cherries.

They’ll bite them but drop them and run away scared

I don't know if they would like them. Blanca Duck on the other hand is not even scared of mice, she told me that those taste good , so she would definitely not run away from dropping mulberries. My ducks are even clever enough to rip out the protective rows of onions planted around these tasty tomato plants…
