No, didn't work yesterday. Just been on a roller-coaster all weekend with this hatch. Only three and a half (one still in shell, but alive) hatched out of 30. Two perfectly formed chicks DIS after pipping.

I can understand your wife 100%! - As for the poop jar, i stored it in the shed outside, the poop has dried up and doesn't smell anymore. Let your wife feed the ducklings with handfuls of meal-worms while they sit in her lap. That'll cure her for sure!

And by looking at your pictures it is confirmed: @Magnolia Ducks incubator produces blurry ducklings!

Having zero experience with hatching eggs i can only say sorry to hear about your bad-luck.
Maybe it was the power-outage? Or maybe not? Too little or too much humidity? Stray Alpha particles?
Just don't let that stop you from trying again in the future.

Maybe it was the power-outage? Or maybe not? Too little or too much humidity? Stray Alpha particles?
Just don't let that stop you from trying again in the future.

I'm thinking the power outage may have been the cause, yes. But, I 'float-tested' the remaining eggs this morning, and they seem to still be viable? So, back in the incubator they went. I'm going to give them a bit more time.

Candled my other eggs, and they seem okay. Time will tell.

Oh, on another note, I've been gathering duck eggs to try again. Strangely, there were six in the coop this morning. And I only have five females!

Muscovy have been busy too, but I've been leaving their eggs so they go broody.
