Well crud, I called the doctor and they said my last tetanus shot was in 2017. I feel like I called a few years ago and asked because I had gotten cut and they had told me it was more recent than that, but I must have misremembered.

So now I'm in the urgent care waiting to get a booster, ugh. I'll be paranoid about tetanus now.

My doctor tells me that the shots are good for 10 years. I only get one every 10 years so you should be fine unless your doc gives some generic shot. You'll be okay, don't panic.

I have five emus This camera only sees the front part of the pasture, with the baby barn visible and the adult barn to the left, so I can't see everything, but they spend a lot of their time hanging out in that area. Plus it looks over at the goose and turkey coop and run, so I can sort of see them too, haha.

Do you raise Emus? I have heard that they can be feisty, my friend's tried to kick him and chase him before is what he said. I am not even sure where he got his from but they were young when he got them. That is neat that you have 5 of them!!! Do they eat a lot???

I breed them! Mine are all fine, I raised all but Sebastian from chicks and they have all been fine with me. Ciara, my oldest female, even lets me dress her up!

Sebastian kicked me once, but I bought him as an adult, and a week after he got here he got out so I had to go catch him. As I grabbed him, he understandably got scared and kicked me in the arm. Had a big bruise, but he didn't break the skin - and he absolutely could have sliced me open if he was trying to.

That is soooooo cool!!! How many babies do they have at one time and how long to incubate. I am so sorry for the questions, I have no room for one but think they are the coolest birds ever!!! Are they that friendly with everyone or just you since you are the caregiver?

They are okay with my father because they know him, so he tends to do their care if I can't for some reason. They would probably be okay with others, but I don't let strangers go in without me. As long as I am in there, I can bring anyone else in and they are fine with them

By the wings, believe it or not. Then you walk directly behind them, because they can't kick straight backwards, and kind of 'walk' them forward.

WOW, thanks for the information. That was most interesting. 60 eggs!!!! I bet you must have a heck of an incubator!!! I have seen someone online incubate an egg before doing only one at a time and they were shipped eggs. One hatched and the next one they tried did not.

Even my Ducks are funny, if I have my 5 year old Grandson in the pen feeding them lettuce with me, they won't come near me unless he is sitting on my lap. Once on my lap they will eat out of both of our hands. If he is standing he must feel like a threat to them.
