Yes, it looks like that. Both webbies have dried up and fallen off, but the little one doesn't care and it does not seem to have a negative impact on its swimming abilities either.
Maybe over time they grow back?
I would think that it would not but I am not an expert in the duck foot department so hopefully it might. I was happy to hear that it does so well and can still swim great.

Oh goodie can't wait to see them. How old will they be? You may have to let them all visit through fencing till they get used to each other. Resident flocks can get pretty upset about newbies moving in on their territory.

They are this year's and Franks are, as I understand, normally hatched naturally on account of being very very good layers and parents. Which means (based on a conversation with another lady that keeps them) they are likely about 4 months old now.

Yes, we've seen the "out with the newbies" revolt when our second batch of ducks came in .. Being close but separate for a week or so is what I was planning on.

Not so clear yet about night quarters yet because with ducks, it was quite easy to keep the most bullied newbie in a dog crate inside the coop, whereas 2 geese, hm... If I don't get any good ideas I'll just keep them in the house overnight at least at the outset - safety comes first.

The geese are here.

Following the seller's experience (he has geese, ducks and chickens) we just brought them into the duck orchard, no separation.

The ducks ran up to them and tried to talk but the geese didn't understand. They were very cautious, having suddenly landed on another planet after travelling in a closed box.

An hour or so later they declared one of the kiddie pools goose territory and are actively driving away any ducks that want to jump in. They are also sampling grass and some corn. The ducks seem kinda offended and are pretending nothing is happening.

During the first hour they honked once. But they are still somewhat schocked from the journey so this is not yet a representative sample I'd say.

The big test is, I guess, the first night - will they go into the house and will they all stay inside peacefully. If it goes fine that's sorted.

As to whether they really are two girls, well... "One is definitely a girl and the other is in all probability a girl." - So I guess we'll know in the spring :)

So a snake ate dragon ducks eggs. I feel bad for her as she had two weeks on those and is now sitting an empty nest. I went to pick up the snake and dh said it will bite you. I said it's just a.rat snake, they dont bite. It bit me.
Any snake will bite to defend itself. But that's just something I would do, too. :lau
