Depends on the year. We had about two weeks of it here before we jumped into record breaking summer temps this year. Annoying.

Hi Friends, once again: This morning i received the bad news that my beloved little Ducky, tentatively named Havoc has fallen asleep forever last night.
I was feeling really sick last Friday, so we decided that Duck-Mom would take all Chaos, Mayhem and Havoc with her to the "Cabin", so that i could get some rest…
Here are two of the last pictures.

I feel so guilty!

I promised never to leave Havoc alone, like its mom did in the beginning!
And yet i left it for three days…

Don't feel guilty Frank. You had taken really good care of Ducky and things happen. Maybe it had caught something you had even. It's hard to say. When we are sick it's really hard to take care of our flock. When I had covid a couple of years ago I was really worried about being able to do it and my husband had it at the same time but I managed but it was very hard. I totally understand. Don't beat yourself up. You never left it alone, you trusted it with someone else and things do happen. I am really sorry for your loss. I hope that you feel better.
