I haven't had any greenery since August! They devoured whatever there was. Just a filed of mud now.

But yes, everything is covered now. Although we've had relatively mild weather for a few days, so everything is now ice instead of snow. Makes for treacherous footing. Or lack of footing.
I can't wait for the mud-field to freeze solid! - Almost did a split today when walking into the duck-yard…

Yes the ice is very dangerous for us
Even watching my birds on ice makes me nervous
I ask them each time
Did you guys put on your skates 😂
I love watching them walking on ice when the pond freezes over…

Interesting! You do sometimes see some mutations pop up in wild mallards - I've seen bibbed mallards before, which is cool. I wonder if this is the restricted mallard gene.
Sometimes i have over twenty Mallards joining my flock here, so the likeliness for inter-breeding is definitely high…

Since the terrain here is so uneven, I had to be extra careful when going to the various coops and enclosures. Didn't land on my rear or my front, or my side for that matter. At least, not this time.

BF is starting to seriously doubt my ability to remain upright. I fall so often, for various reasons.

Mud is frozen here I have to hold onto the fence to keep from sliding down and giving the birds something to laugh about. And slick is everything else rock, wood, and ground deck going into the Muscovy house that you have to be careful of becasue by mid day it is covered in frozen poop . It's a favorite hangout.
