Seriously: How to remove those purple stains? I tried rubbing alcohol, acetone and gasoline without success. Here's a picture of myself in the mirror:Geez! That's horrible!!! I'm so sorry for all you went through, and the ducks went through. Glad that your Sharp Dressed Drake made it though, even if you now look like a punk cow!![]()
Thank you very much! - Unfortunately the drake played a very good show, see below. So sorry that you lost your one duck Frank. I am so happy that your Drake looks so good and it sounds like you took good care of him. I am happy that you found your ducklings too. That was really a bad storm. I am glad that you and the rest of the ducks all seem to be doing well. Hopefully whoever's dog that was will be found and be made to pay restitution for your duck. That's about the only way people learn to keep their animals home.
it seems sweaty skin and Blue Kote bond immediately. Short of sand-paper and paint thinner i have tried almost everything. If i could get my hand on some Sodium Thiosulfate, that might do the trick. When I get Blue kote on my hands I spray rubbing alcohol on my skin and it cleans it off. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for poor SDD! And I hope you don't have nightmares! As for the Sharp Dressed Drake (SDD), if he survives he will apply as an actor in Bollywood:
Everybody was forced out of bed an 6am this morning by Sunny Sunshine Duck. She must have had a nightmare, woke up with a loud scream, got off her nest and ran quacking and screaming straight into my bedroom and hid under the bed. It too a while to convince her that there wasn't a monster in her nest…
With everybody fully awake now, i released the ducknagers, Mr Duckhini and the rest of the flock. Inspecting SDD, i noticed that there were a lot of maggots crawling in his wound, so i gave him an early morning bath, quick towel dry and sat him down to see what's going on with his leg. With a slight limp he walked back into my office and sat down under my desk. He spent hours there, sleeping when he was a duckling last year.
In the afternoon he still didn't want to move and preferred to sleep, so i went outside to get some stuff done. (there will be at least one video about the ducknagers and the ducklings)
After several hours i came back inside and instantly gagged due to the smell of rotten meat. I really thought the drake had died while i was outside and was already decomposing, but no. He was still sitting under the desk and rasped at me Upon further inspection i discovered that not only his leg is injured and he has a scratch on his side, but under his wings he was literally scalped!
Off to the shower he went and i was able to rinse off as much as possible of that mess before i closed the drain and let him have a bath. Yesterday he ate meal-worms from the bathtub water, today he refused to eat anything. At least he is drinking water, but not the amount ducks usually do. He expertly hid that wound under his wings for at least two days. When i lifted his wings, there were maggots crawling all over his back. His whole back was covered in a stinky black liquid and bits of him were literally falling off. I wish i could unsee that picture! Some of the maggots fell on my legs and feet and started to crawl over me!
Imho this night is the make or break point for him and i estimate his chance of survival at 50%…
Holy Cow Frank, I would have never guessed that to be you!!! LOLSeriously: How to remove those purple stains? I tried rubbing alcohol, acetone and gasoline without success. Here's a picture of myself in the mirror:
