Friends: What are your recipes to get rid of aphids on house plants?
I am over-wintering peppers in the living room and the mud-room and they are full of aphids. I tried dish-soap water, several sprays from the farm-store and the internet and nothing seems to help. The population is knocked down for a couple of days and then they bounce back.
I cannot spray them down with permethrin, that smells too intense for inside of the house...

500 years ago, when i was a kid, mom had some kind of suppositories for the house plants: She just stuck one into the soil, watered the plant and within three days the aphids started to die. - On second thought that might not be a good idea to use on plants whose fruits (peppers) you want to eat of feed to the duckos…
Help! 🆘

I use to spray my plants with Raid House and Garden. It was made for garden plants so I would think it would be safe to use on plants as long as they do not have the peppers on them yet. I just found the can I used to use and it says for ornamental plants only, do not use on edible plants so scratch this idea Frank.

I found my can of it Frank and it says for only ornamental plants in the garden and not for anything edible. Glad I still had a can around. Sorry about that. I used to use Dawn Dishwashing liquid and made a spray with water and it and that would kill things so I don't know if that would help you any or not.

My husband is over wintering his pepper plants and he said he uses lady bugs to get rid of them. You can order them but his were already on his plants so he just left them on there to feast on them. His are out in a heated garage though so I don't know if you would want more bugs in your house or not.

My pens abut up next to my bedroom window so trust me, I know when mine are having their all night discussions about the world's problems. Trust me. there are a lot of problems because they discuss it all night long!!! LOL
Mu dux just brought to my attention that the drain-pipe from their waterers had fallen off and the water was running out, being wasted.

The dux that still sleep in their house are also active during the night: They hunt the mice that woke up due to the mild weather… 🐉
Mine will gobble up pinkies. But aren't real interested in hairy ones.
Why I don't understand...
The savages eat song birds if they find one injured or dead. 🫨

I found a dead sparrow in my pen a few months back. Not sure how it died but no one ate it. I have been having problems with them even with things I have bought that were to scare them away. I have netting over part of the pens but they are smart and can find the smallest hole. Anyone have any luck in chasing them away from the pens?
