The July Khakis turned out to be 3+3. Sold 2+2 today, 1+1 ready for Sunday and they will all be in new homes.

April Welshies and Appleyards starting to lay.

Still trying to sell 2 Appleyard boys, they're very beautiful but nobody wants just boys... I'm thinking we'll overwinter them and then in the spring ambush the first people who come crying about too many slugs :)

Everybody having a good time today since there was finally some serious rain ... well, relatively speaking anyway, it's been mostly dry since May, there are big cracks in the gound and some more sensitive trees / bushes are starting to feel sad.

With all the various effects of drought (premature fruit fall, bird activity...) the apple harvest is about 20% of previous year's. That's why we cook up loads of applesauce and various jams, there's even some gen 2024 apple juice still left so we'll have about 200 liters over the winter, that's OK.

My next-door neighbor had a lot of pears on their tree and they didn’t want them so they let me pick them all and I’m making pear sauce right now yummm
