To the person who dumped 40 pekins on the side of the road..

I will post pics as soon as I get a chance. I owe pics of them AND the runners who are hatching this weekend

Mine are doing great. I let them out with the others today. There was some picking and poking at first, my Black Swedish drake was the worst for some reason, but it didn't take long and they were all laying in the shade together. They didn't wander down the hill to the creek yet, but did they hog the baby pools all day.

My Appleyards really seemed to like them and they've formed a nice big flock out there.

I am so excited that everyone is doing well! I hope to see pictures soon.

The ducks over here are good - getting used to geese. We still have 17 and are starting to name them.. Our goal is to go down about 10 more, because we never exactly planned on having more than 5 ducks.. So 11 is a bit of a stretch. (We already have 4 and then plus 7 pekins). They will have to share a pen with 3 of my geese, but that shouldn't be a problem and will keep them safe in the long run, because the foxes around here are SCARED of our geese. We will be attaching a pen next to the chicken pen that they're sleeping in now and probably fence in part of the stream for them because they love it so much. We're going to dig it out a bit more (even though they've already extended it by 2ish feet) so then they still have water it when it droughts, which is bound to happen in MD.

I will post pictures of them again soon! Hopefully of ones that are named.

i have sent you a PM please pm me back anyone in SMD willing to bring them to me? ill be visiting port royal va shortly and would be blessed to rescue whatever they have left

The last 12 ducks we were looking to rehome have found a home! A nice 4H family took them in to add to their barnyard. We took them over there this morning and I checked out their place - the ducks will definitely be very happy! Also, sorry I haven't responded to some PMs, I was attacked by a horse yesterday (ouch!) and was in a lot of pain last night. I will be responding very soon!

Now, we just have our five ducks, two drakes and 3 hens. I will ACTUALLY take pictures of them with their new flock. I intended to yesterday but couldn't get myself out there. We are working on names for them.. But they're very cute! It's ridiculous thinking about how many we had just a couple of weeks ago.. 10 times the amount we do now! I am so glad that finally everyone has a good home.

For everyone who expressed interest in taking some, THANK YOU SO MUCH! I would have saved some for longer, but we are getting an order of chickens to raise out for some locals and need to kick most of our young waterfowl out of the house to where the ducks are.

I hope to see updates on all the ducks that were adopted soon!

I will definitely keep updating this thread. Again, thanks so much to everyone who helped us through this crazy event.

Our pekins are doing great! We have had them home for one week now and they have settled in to their flock! I will try to get some pictures soon!

Chelsea- glad to hear you were able to find homes for everyone!

Take care!
