It is a tie for me between my Mom's Pork Shoulder with pineapples and her homemade sugar cookies.

Some day I would like to try this, it sounds delicious!

Yummy! Maybe I'll be brave and try making it this Christmas.

It's really not that difficult to make - the big key is not to overcook the squid or it gets chewy.
And definitely try the beef Wellington - is really rich with the pate but so worth it for a special occasion. I use the joy of cooking recipe.

Very similar recipe to what I use. Def try it! Also, with the beef drippings from the first heating of the beef- try yorkshire pudding too!

Green bean casserole

I have to admit green bean casserole is my go-to for both Thanksgiving and Christmas - I deliberately don't make it any other time of the year so it always feels "special" to have it. I agree, skip the Campbell's version and make your own sauce, it's not much extra work but so much tastier.

It is a nice fruity citrus compliment to ham for sure.


I have no idea the origin. My grandmother used to make it at Christmas. It was a very long time after she passed before I found the recipe.
