I taught myself on YouTube to groom Henry Poodle. I tell people when they admire his cut that I graduated from University of YouTube. He would be a one million dollar dog if we used a groomer. Plus, Henry loves attention, so his pom pom feet and big dreadlockish headpiece are something he loves. People yell his name out of their cars when we walk! I'm thinking ... "OK Henry has more friends that we do, I have no clue who that was!"

It has made us much more social to have him. (in a good way, we're more shy than Henry) Dog Party people made us all matching hats and they want to do a Dog Party Calendar! We exchanged gifts for Christmas.

He's not a foo-foo dog, he growls and tries to attack coyotes. He can run extremely fast. And he's very protective of me. His heart is filled with love, he loves to hug his favorite people. And he does lots of dancing on his back legs only. We don't quite know what he weighs, because at the vet, he thinks they want him to dance for them when he's on a scale!

Every day I say to him, "Wanna go feed the bird?" and we run out to feed the chickens together.

Ramblin' Bo. One of the nicest German Shepherds anyone could ask for. No, he wasn't perfect, he was just a good dog. Was he a good guard dog? No, but he could put the fear of God in you if he thought it was necessary. Brave? Not really. He wouldn't protect himself but he would die for his humans. He lived his life with me and time took its toll. His body is long gone but his spirit is still strong in my heart.

I’ve thought that exact same question before too. It’s weird, they are good dogs and so smart. Before I knew much about them I just thought they were ugly, now I know you don’t have to trim them to be so ridiculous looking.
But it is also so much fun to trim them any way you want to. And they like it so much. The attention and the warm water and sort of massage they get during grooming is nice for them. Henry gets sad if I don't trim him. We let his hair grow once and he got depressed. Perked right back up after I made him a 1950's style poodle again.

Also he likes me to use a leaf blower on him outside after his haircut. He barks, jumps and tries to bite the wind ... and I call it his blow dry!

Standard Poodles raced the Iditarod and were kicked out cause they almost won. Strong, smart and no shedding. Don't activate allergies. Love kids. Love chickens!

His name suits him so much.

This was beautiful to read. Man. I love doggies.

I have a Shiba Inu, but also used to have a little Jack Russel. Loosing my old terrier lady absolutely broke me. We went trough a lot together. ❤️ And the dogs were such a lovely pair too!

Now Chika (my shiba) is getting on too, she will be turning fifteen in the next year, but she is doing really well. I wouldn't know what to do without the dogs, and I love the stubborn, independent and primal breeds.
A sheepdog, spaniel or lab would do my head in! 😂
