Here's some inspiration. It's the winners and honorable mentions for Wildlife Photographer of the Year. It's interesting how several of the photos actually have a few "technical" flaws or weren't shot in the best of light, but when you'll scroll down under each photo and see the criteria for the category, they nail it and their photo's tell a good story. I pretty much always try and shoot fairly tight portraits in golden hour light with smooth backgrounds. I definitely need to start broadening my horizon to become a more well rounded photographer......

I have the next two days off work, if weather allows I will leave early and try to photograph by myself for the first time. Going to try and capture a bit of that golden hour!
Awesome. If you go by those ponds, go to the edge and try getting the camera a couple inches above the water. It's not easy, especially with a big lens, but it makes for a very nice photo...
