World Egg Day Hatchalong!(October 12, 2012 is World Egg Day!)

I'm a little late but have just set 6 cream legbar eggs in my Brinsea Mini Advance. Can I join in? I'm quite excited because this is my first attempt at hatching out my own eggs. The cockerel was from my last hatch of bought eggs and the hens came with my house purchase.

If they come early they may still make World Hatching Day!

I also love the names you've given them :) The two chicks we're sure are hens we've named Ms. Henny Penny and Miss Flutter Balls, LOL. There is one that looks sorta roo like, but hasn't developed waddles yet, whereas the other boys have very red combs and waddles already, so it could be a hen with larger comb, but I doubt it ;P

Hopefully we'll get more hens in this batch!!!

Quiche
Zukkerei
Huevos Rancheros
and using nothin but egg whites or yolks without guilt when the recipe calls for it!

Here we come!!!!

Adorable names!! Wishing for hens in your new batch

Good luck!!

Candled all of my eggs tonight, and from the first set (went in 9 days ago) I have 10 little moving, wiggling babies and a couple possibles. I think the newer ones (only set 3 1/2 days ago) are still too new to see anything in...will candle everyone again late Thursday night, which will be a week for the new ones. Will have a better idea of whats going on then ;)

Gotcha GVChickenMan!

Oh, and I also just candled. I saw dark yolks and very faint veins, though I'm on day 3, only 2 nights though, LOL. I didn't go through all of them, just the first few because I know I'm going to candle tomorrow :) But so far, looks good!!!

There are no rules for the egg photos accept that it has to be a picture of an egg. Doesn't have to be an egg that your chickens laid or that you have set.

Don't post the pics on thew thread, but pm them to me.

Went ahead and candled the new eggs once more tonight, since this was officially day 4. I can see veins starting in several of them. I didn't want to keep them out long or handle them alot, so I didn't count. But there is action going on! Late Thursday night will be the *serious* candling (day 7 for the new ones and day 14 for the ones set earlier). I am cautiously hopeful about this hatch..so far so good :D
