Moma and baby. I don't know if you can see it in the picture, but it has a silver "haze" to it in the light. Three more pips in this picture.

You can't see it in the picture but it has a white patch on its chest. It could be a full blooded Cayuga, Maggie, or Peking, or any combination thereof.

VERY MESSY YES. That's the only way we will get more ducks is if a broody hatches them.

Woo-hoo! Went to refill broodys feed and water. She has one little black duckling under her. :-) :-) :-)

They should hatch the 10th, I don't have a roo old enough for my n.h.hens so I put 10 duck eggs under her. She kicked one out the third day and another one about a week ago.

I know that it sounds crazy, but, my broody seems to be "talking" to her eggs today.

So after candling results were not up to the wife's satisfaction we take her stethoscope out and listen to the eggs. Eight out of nine have definitely got live ducks in them with six days to go.
