Fascinating article. I learned a lot, and it's very inspiring!

Glad some poisonous plants were listed as warnings. Also loved learning about another chicken keepers plant preferences!

This will definitely be my go-to guide when looking for new plants to feed to my flock.

Mostly true, but if you find the right resources you can make a coop for much less, maybe as low as 30 dollars. And in many places you can buy day-old chicks for less than a dollar. Last thing is you can make a temporary brooder out of a cardboard box lined with pine shavings, for practically no cost (not including the shavings). Everything else looks great; well thought out and tested!

Very neat and organized. Good ventilation. Looks to be predator safe. Easy access to nesting boxes. Nice and roomy too. It fits all the necessary qualifications for a good coop and looks good besides!

Great design. I love how roomy and beautiful the coop is. Very organized too. It's great to have a coop and run you can walk into (learned by experience)!

Sad, but true. This information is correct and battery cages are real. I'm glad somebody made an article to show other people what's really happening.

I absolutely agree with this. While I am not in a good position to adopt hens I will do anything else in my power to help battery cage hens. Thank you for making this to help others learn what treatment battery hens are getting!

I used these instructions and was able to hatch a chick successfully. Sadly, Valor had to be culled the day after Valentine's Day (the day after she hatched) due to birth deformeties, but that had nothing to do with the guide. This guide is very useful and I will use it next time I have the need and recommend it to anyone who is attempting assisted hatching.
:thumbsup

I used this article as a guide when my rooster had a head injury, and he was back to his normal, crowing, healthy self within just a couple of days!

Both Finn and I thank you!

A couple pictures of Finn's injury:

This article is one of the best I've ever read! I haven't had any too recent losses, but every point in here is true.

I absolutely agree with the part about mourning for chickens. There is no such thing as "just a chicken", and you shouldn't let anybody else convince you so.

For any future readers of this article: don't blame yourself. Despite your loss continue on, even when you want to give up, because you will regret that later. Here's free hugs for anybody who needs them :hugs :hugs :hugs :hugs :hugs

Sweet stories, and I'm glad they all ended happily. I have several stories about bullying that didn't end well, but by using this method I believe I will develop many happily-ever-afters.

Yes, everybody should have a "Chicken Jail", though we call ours the "Chicken Hospital". In addition to a place for bullies chickens it can also be used for sick chickens, or introducing new chicks to the flock.

Great article with good info. Thanks for taking the time to make it, @azygous!

Fun game!

I only got one question wrong: the one about how many chickens there are on earth. But I'm really not that smart! Several of them were just lucky guesses.

It's a good trivia to get your brain moving!

Interesting information. I love all the new things I learned here and the pictures are really fun!

Something cool I noticed that might help prove your point is that ever since my roosters started mating I haven't heard the egg/escort call. I guess that is because the cockerels always over-mate the pullets and aren't very popular at this age. I can't blame the girls:gig

Thanks for taking the time to make this!
