I have a new Brinsea with the humidity pump. It is working great but I would prefer to get the humidity closer to 45% and it's running at 56%. I have the vent opened and I set it for 45%. I'm also wondering why there is a flashing P by the humidity reading? I've read through the manual but it...
I'am really hoping that these 12 eggs survive hatching in the LG. I have one more batch due to hatch in 11 days after this current one. After that I will never use an LG again! I have paint, lavender, porcelain, black, white & BBS in this group... I'm going to torch the LG's if they contribute...
This chick is not spraddle legged,I don't believe because its only one leg that's the issue. It holds its leg straight out mostly behind him. I tried the band aid method but that didn't work. I'm not sure this one is going to survive this. He seems fine other than being tiny and not as fuzzy as...
I have posted on so many threads that I thought it would be easiest to post pics on a new thread. I'm still waiting on 7 to hatch but 23 are here!
This little splash was hatched from Cj's Silkies and its too cute!
I have one chick that was the first to pip yesterday morning but after that nothing more. I have had 15 others pip and hatch since the first one pipped. I have no intention of risking the rest of my pipped chicks for this one but wondered what would make it quit at this late point?
Happy dance even if it is 1:30 am!!! :
First chick is out! Too many pips to count now! Only 32 more to go and I have to work tomorrow Hoping my lavenders hatch before I go to work!
Hoping these look like their supposed to after reading so many different threads today, I have no clue! Ugh, too much information! Opinions?
They are all actively moving too, thank goodness! This is only a few of 30+ scheduled to hatch on 10/20. OK, 33 EGGS GOING INTO LOCKDOWN TONIGHT!
DAY 18...
Ok, yes I'm using an LG this time around so my question is not about the incubator itself. I just want to know how many chicks you think can hatch in one without it being too crowded? I'm expecting 36 in the this batch to hatch. This is day 16 and they all still look good.
I've been told by several people that they count the day they set as day 1 not 24 hours later as day 1. Just curious since Lockdown time is coming up soon.
Anyone ever used a portable building for their chickens? I was thinking of putting little doors in that go out to individual runs for each color group. Their coops would be inside and secured at night. Seems like a good idea but I thought I would ask first!
