Tractor Supply, I have so far this year gotten, Tetra tints, White Rocks, Red Sex links, Dixie Rainbows and assorted bantams. The ones I am featuring today are the bantams. I am very curious as to what I picked.
I had such terrible luck last year hatching eggs I almost wasn't going to even attempt this year. Yesterday I decided to give it one more shot. Incubator is all set up, temp is holding fast and I am going to be placing some eggs in when I get home. Not a lot, Just about a 1/2 dozen.
My rooster...

I hatched this little chick yesterday:
This is the father:(Silkie x RIR)
Judgeing by the egg size and color(large med brown egg) I have eliminated the easter eggers, polish, Appen spitz, Buff orpingtons, and Tetra Tints.
I have eliminated the buff brahma due to the fact the father...
The 6 ducklings I ordered came today. There are suppose to be 3 indian runners and 3 muscovies. Which are which please?
None of them look like my first 2 muscovy ducklings. I had to herd them to the corner to get a picture of them.
My next batch of eggs are due to hatch next weekend. Thus far I am batting 0 with hatch rates. first clutch lost 5/5 eggs. Second clutch lost 11/11 eggs. Half due to early hatching.
I have anothr clutch in the incubator right now. 10 eggs I think, of barnyard mix. I am going to candle tonight...
Info:
I have a couple of light brown large eggs in my incubator, they were in a raised nest with a buff brahma sitting on them when I found them (as well as several other eggs) - she wasn't being broody, rather she ws just laying her own egg among the others. Assuming that they were from my RIR...
I put 11 eggs in the incubator today
10 brown eggs from Buff Chantecler(1), Buff Orphingtons(2) Buff Brahma(1), Rhode Island Red(1), 1 tetra tints or 1 polish, 4 Golden Comets and an Easter egger.

There once was several chickens...and 2 ducks...that liked to play in the yard....
All the chickens were good little chickens....
and went back in their safe and secure pen and coop for the night....All except two little chickens who made mommy chase them around for an hour before...
Ok, I know I have Red sex links, polish, silkies, Appen, GLW, and EEs in the bunch but what are the others?(my parents decided to surprise me with a bunch of this years stock from TSC they got from someone.) I finally was able to put them all together)
Mistery Hen-there are 7 of them...
First I went out to my coop yesterday and noticed that one of my Buff Brahmas was missing(I had 3). Doing a head count, I realized I had exactly the amount of chickens I was suppose to have. Looking through them I found this chicken:
I wont complain though, this morning I found the largest...
Is there a bet way to introduce them? Should I keep the ducklings in with the baby chicks until they all move to the pen together? Short visits to the coop? I brought the ducklings out to visit the chickens today and the poor chickens, including the roos were terrified of them. The baby ducks...
Ultimately I do not care what gender they are, but for naming purposes, it would be helpful:) I have one picture here, I can provide more, at different angles upon request.
My Buff Brahma has chosen a box and sat herself upon a pile of eggs, I got her as a broody hen but this is the first she has sat on eggs. None of the eggs are from her. They have been in the coop for a couple of days, will the eggs still hatch? I noticed the pile was building up slowly There are...
I got 2 adult silkie hens a couple of weeks ago. They have not layed an egg since they have been here. I am not missing finding them. When I picked them up, the man only had them in a pen and there was an egg there. Since I have had then, no eggs. They are starting to mingle with my large fowl...
I will try to give you as much info as I can for each chick, which is not much..lol. If anyone thinks any of the chicks are NOT pullets please let me know. They have EEs(only a couple), Barred Rocks, light brahmas, BOs, cochins, Black Australorps, and a few Delawares.
