This is my hatch from some eggs I bought on the auction page. all the yellow ones are from my own eggs though. if you read the description on the youtube page I explain all the breeds and what happened with the incubator
I only have 1 bantam wheaten pullet and her roo in there, without them it would be only faverolles and 2 easter eggers. i'm not a big fan of bantams either.
It would be for 12 eggs, plus a few extras to make up for P.O mishaps.
Just wondering if anyone would be interested in favacaunas? I have a chicken pen of salmon faverolles with a faverolle roo an easter egger that lays big blue eggs and a bantam blue wheaten roo and wheaten hen. both faverolle and blue wheaten roos mount all of them multiple times a day. I did a...
that's the one i have. It's really convenient for the small time hatcher like myself. I've had perfect hatches with it. I was gonna buy it on amazon but the one with the cradle was somewhat expensive that's when I found it cheaper on hayneedle for about 30-40 dollars cheaper.
I guess quality control is not important anymore. I worked as a stocker for a grocery store and I would constantly open a box and find missing product or stuff completely crushed yet the outer box would be in perfect condition.
When should I start rotating the eggs in the incubator? I usually start on day one because I have an auto turn cradle, but this time I let them sit in the incubator for a day or two before I turned the auto turn on. Could I have left them sit longer?
I
I feel like the p.o would be butts and manhandle it just because it's different. They would probably not know whether to sit it up vertically or horizontally.
If you sent a bigger box would it be the same amount as 2 smaller boxes?
Not really. A SBEL is a cross between an easter egger or any chicken that lays blue/green eggs to a commercial/hatchery leghorn. the leghorn puts the "super" in super blue egg layer (SBEL)
I guess if you have an actual farm you could do this but most of us have our birds in our backyard and with only a few birds not much to look at. a few photos would suffice if they asked i guess.
Every time i sell a bird on craigslist they always ask for my home address and because it always sounds so sketchy i ask them to meet me somewhere. To people who don't know about chickens it probably seems weird to be paranoid about someone stealing them but us chicken people know that those 10...
never had one shipped with the eggs. but i;m guessing they are basically the "Hot hands" packets they sell. honestly i would not recommend using them because it could start the incubation process and killing the embryo from the temp fluctuations. some people have hatched refrigerated eggs. so i...
