At my request Frank posted it on his Facebook wall. The background is the same that ALBC had at Crossroads, so am guessing this was taken by the ALBC. Frank and the Good Shepherd folks are working to restore several heritage breeds to their original purpose. Of course they want to make a profit...

I always try to enter a couple of "extra" birds. This leaves me empty show coops. At Shawnee, OK 2010 someone gave Jacob a call drake. We placed him in an empty hole near Jacobs trio of Buckeye bantams. Then I bought a Buff Leghorn bantam hen. placed her there as well. We placed BV/BB on both...

Some breeders never show their breeder stock. They take the offspring. If it is what they want to breed from, they move it from their show pens to their breeder pens. Some feel so strong about biosecurity that when a bird leaves their farm it never returns. I would say your breeder is one of them.

    J. Ralph Brazelton had a very productive line of exhibition Orpingtons. He trap nested and only hatched from hens that produced 200+ eggs in their first year of lay. They also had to meet the Standard. Bob or Walt should be able to better explain how Ralph did this. It was with Orpingtons, but...

I will let Jimmy know. I am sure he will want at least one cockerel, maybe two. If nothing else we will find him some hatchery pullets to keep the cockerel company. Thanks.

Jimmy started with Ron's eggs in March. Lots of wasted time. Will try to keep an eye out at the fall shows for him. May just have to give him some of our bantams to raise until we can find him some.

Sad day in southeast Arkansas. A dog broke into Jimmy's coop and killed his Rhode Island Red flock from Ron Foggelly. His father is getting rid of the dog and has promised to replace the flock, no matter the cost. So if anyone has any quality stock available please PM me. Prefer closer to our...

None of the hatcheries have the Heritage Rhode Island Red. They may have a Rhode Island Red listed, but it is not the true Heritage RIR. Below are some photos FOGELLY posted. Notice the extreme dark red and the brick shape. These are the true Heritage RIR. Don't get angry at your feed store...
