    BEAUTIFUL! and wax tends to stay soft under the heat. Depending on where the crack is, setting it in a turner where the wax can attach to the turner is a bad idea. I found out the hard way:( I'm going with nail polish the next time.

    Air cells are horrible on the ones that are developing I don't think I even noticed air cells on the clears. I will pay more attention to the clears the next time. YAY for you!

    Does shipping affect viability? For example, if they are fertile can they be non-fertile when they get here? Could some of my 'clears' have been fertile??

    I've never seen a yolk like that but I haven't candled enough to say it's a double or not. My situation is complete opposite... I do have air cells that look like that yolk

    We use the water nipples also. They make a huge difference. I start with both kind of waterers and by the 3rd day they have the nipple down so I pull the regular waterer. Hang it at eye level and their curiosity will take over and then raise it a bit so they stretch just a little bit to reach...

    My advice... leave the boys alone and enjoy your chickens Let the boy make the move in a few years Trust me, it will save you lots of heartache.
