i managed to keep a scissor beak almost to butcher size....(lost it in the raccoon attack).....if it can eat/drink should be fine!

I don’t know it seems cruel

The deed is done. I called my hatch the last 7 eggs were all DIS 57 in total

you have to guage the quality of life....you said it was missing an eye as well, so it’s deformities may be such that culling is the best option.....i have managed to raise a couple crooked necks (one basically spent entire life staring up) a full albino, and a scissor beak.

Tonight’s quail dinner!!! Spatchcock whole quail skin-on braised in olive oil over simple potato hash with asparagus and wine raspberry sauce garnished with cherry tomatoes, and boiled quail eggs
If anyone is butchering soon, I highly recommend 24-48 hours brine using this mixture:
4c Apple cider
1/4 c each apple cider vinegar, dark brown sugar, kosher salt
