Anyone want to lose some weight too? So I'm not starvin' by myself?

yeah oops on the breakfast for me too. I was dealing with one of my son's fever episodes last night and didn't use all of my point so this morning I was starving after not eating for 14 hours. Made three frozen pancakes and had a large glass of chocolate milk. Oh well...I'll just have to deal with only having 13 points left for the day! Maybe a 1 point soup and some cauliflower for lunch later. I think roast for dinner, that should about finish off my points. Maybe if I get time between studying and caring for the sickling I'll get some excersise to earn a few more points for a snack!

Well, here is a funny for you! I can laugh now...an hour ago, I was nearing hysteria.

Went to the gym and decided to try the cardio room and give my shin splints a much needed rest. No trainers are available to show me the ropes so I tell the woman at the desk that I will just check it out myself...I cant break anything right?

I head for the BIGGEST machine and climb on. There, staring me in the face is what looks like the flight control panel for a small aircraft. Anxiety sets in but I plunge forward and put on my best 'I'm confused, doesnt someone want to take pity on me and help' face'. It works and a nice lady behind me says 'start moving your legs, it'll turn on'. Ok. I start moving. I think I am doing pretty well until I hear a sweet little voice say 'honey, I think you are climbing backwards, is that what you want to do' Gahhhhhhh!

I laugh and say 'No...just forgot to have that 2nd cup of coffe this morning'

I manage 5 minutes climbing the stairs to Hades and decide to try something a little more manageable.

I find a bicycle machine and sit down, feet in pedals and away I go. I feel so good that I just keep going and going and going.
20 minutes in, my hair is drenched with sweat and I am feeling the burn. Which at that moment, I thought was a good thing.

I decide its time to take a break and get a drink. I take my feet out of the stirrups and stand up. Whoa. Where did my thigh muscles go? I quickly sit back down and hope no one saw the quivering gelatinous mass that my legs have turned into. I wait 5 more minutes, pretending to be engrossed in whatever was playing on the TV. Try again. Still Jello. Now, I am anxious and wondering how I am ever going to get out of there. Another round of TV watching while casually flexing my legs and feet.

I stand again and actually take a step. I am now quite sure that my thigh muscles have taken themselves on a vacation. I quiver my way across the room, holding onto machines as I go. It was quite a sight really. I made it out of the room, found a chair and sat til I could regroup, then made it to the bench by the door, the bench outside the door, the bicycle rack near the parking light, the light pole at the crosswalk, the lightpole on the opposite side of the crosswalk and finally to my car. Normally a 2 minute journey...today...20 minutes.

I am just praying that it doesnt show up on YouTube.........................

Sounds like my first gym visit, but my husband was there watching and cracking jokes.... wow, I didn't think I would ever go back after that one.

In fact, I need to go back to the gym today and do some cycling. 20 minutes is about all I do anyways

Omg That would be something I would do, so I have to laugh LOL
I did horrible this weekend on eating my calories were over 2000 everyday and I didnt get on the wii at all. So I am goin to try and go this week without weighing and work out a lil more each day to work that off.

Oh and the shin splints What do they feel like. I've noticed if I walk alot expecially on a hard surface, that I will get pains that shoot up my shin's? Is that what that is?

Hey PP... I describe my shin splints as feeling like my shin bones are going to pop out of my skin on the front of my legs... Owwwwiiiieeeeeee.

I have great sneakers but I think that my gait is off a bit because of a sciatic nerve issue so its causing the splints. It stinks cause I love walking but about 15 mins, the pain is so bad that I am almost crying.

Yep thats it, Hurts don't it... I noticed last year I used to walk around the bank here at work on my lunch and by the second lap expecially if I kept a hard steady pass my shins would kill me!!

Well, I got my exercise room arranged in the basement. I had to fix the satelite down there but everything is all set now. I did a good half hour before I had to shower and head to town. I might do some more later or do my favorite stuff on the Wii.

I didn't eat great this weekend and didn't do much exercise. I gained a little over a pound, which is less than I expected. We'll see how I do the rest of the week.

I am going to do some stretches with my daughter in the living room right now. She's 3 and can do so much with the yoga positions already. We even do the tree posse, her balance has gotten excellent. I just realized how much she motivates me, because is she didn't say "mama, get the mat, I want to exercise I wouldn't have bothered. Ok... she's bugging me, and I rather do this and some sit ups, then do anymore tax prep stuff! ARGH!

Wow it's been quiet here today.
I thought I would give the weight machine a try today. The cat thought it would be fun to be in my lap while I was working out. Then the weight machine messed up. Thus ended my workout.

On the upside, DH fixed the weight machine and hopefully tomorrow I will be back at it, probably with the cat. [he suffers from separation anxiety]
