Bumblefoot?

Should i soak them and apply the iodine over the spot once or twice a day for a few days then take off the scab or should i just soak once and take off the scab? I didn't know if applying it for a few days before taking off the scab would help at all so thats why im asking

I think it's soak, try and remove scab carefully if you can,dry foot then apply iodine, then wrap foot in clean bandages. Daily. @chickens really please correct me if I'm wrong

What if its hard to remove, like it doesn't want to come off? Do i just wait and soak again later? I had that happen last time with Josephine, her bumble spot is huge :(

Here is a great thread on treating a really bad case of bumble foot in ducks. It's a really long thread but read through it, it will help you understand more about what you're dealing with

I just finished reading everything and wow, its very helpful, thank you so much for sending me the link. I soaked everyone tonight and applied iodine and wrapped them up and like i said, tomorrow morning I'll do the surgeries, with how bad the two ducks and chickens are i don't think i can do all of the surgeries in one day though.

you're on the right track!! Only do what your capable of doing and what the animals are capable of doing for each day. You got this!!

Okay so I was able to get the scabs off both feet of the first hen but the infection itself would not come out of that really bad spot, like it is really stuck in there, so I just put a good amount of iodine and antibiotic ointment and wrapped it up, on her smaller bumble spot I was able to get a bit of some pus out (the stuff you see on her on the second picture is ointment)

And for three of the ducks that have it the scabs wouldn't come off, but the other two ducks that have a very small case of it I just took off the little scabs they have and wrapped them up. For the second hen her scabs wouldn't come off yet either. I'm going to soak them and try again tomorrow or I might just do a few days of soaking and iodine, will doing that help the infection come more to a head?
