Charity Crochet , Knit & Sewn Projects!! Craft-along!! All Welcome!!!

Seminole and SE: I called the hospital just around the corner from Ty's office in Phoenix and they said they would LOVE to have the blankets so Ty is going to take them there. I hate to drop out on you Seminole but if they need them it works for me.
Maybe I will do a couple more and send them on to you guys.

It's great that this idea was put forth. I'm sure there is a great need for these items all over the country.

Hi! I will try to make some hats, blankets, gowns, quilts etc... I can sew alot of different things, but I don't know how all you people can know how to knit. It's so confusing, LOL!

Do you think I could also send some hand-made stuffed animals?

Jacie I am just thrilled for any of our items to be going to needy kids..no matter where they are. The reason I said I would send mine to Seminole is because I knew she worked with preemies and I knew she would take pictures for us. Feel free to send your charity items to any hospital or cancer clinic that needs them. If you want me to box them all together and send them to Florida to Seminole, I'll be happy to and she can take pictures of how they get used. No worries, just so they get to charity organizations.
And chickenwhisperer..so sorry, truthfully, not being a seamstress, it never occured to me to invite the seers to craft-a-long with us!!!

Sewn items are welcomed too!!! A little blankie or hat or whatever out of some soft fabric would be wonderful and I bet chemo caps would be great sewn too!! Great idea!!!!

Thanks for thinking of the preemies and sick babies that I work with. The crocheted blankets won't catch toes are fingers because first off, they do drape over the incubator to keep the light out. Then once a baby is in a crib, they are swaddled, then the blanket is layed over them.
The staff here is real excited about it, and we were discussing the picture taking last night.
I have to say that the label for the blankets is the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And what a wonderful way to spread the joy of chickens, and what parents will say when people ask who made the blanket, LOL
Someone mentioned backing the crocheted blankets, and that sounds real nice. Quilts are fine, too. Thanks for thinking of me and my unit.

Well, I'm gonna go ahead and make at least one more! LOL! But wouldn't it be easier to send them straight to Sem? Let me know.

LOL Jacie!!! Yes, I guess it would and if Sem doesn't mind, folks can just pm her for her address and send them striaght to her..be sure and put a tag on your work so the parents will know a BYC member made the item. And Chuckengirl, anything you make will be appreciated, double crochet, sewn, knitted....I'm sure there are other crafty ways to amke hats, blankies..that fleece can be cut and tied..no sewing required..easy peasy..try that!!
