After reading through all these posts, I have forgotten what it is about. I guess just the fact the TSC tends to goof up breeds. Not likely to change any time soon, since people keep buying from them.

Luckily we don't have any out here. My friend has had the best luck buying breeds she wants off the BYC Buy,sell, trade forum. She has bought from states near & far and gotten beautiful young birds.

PS it costs more but her purchases were sent next day express - some arrived late but alive.

Yea I am done buying from them, at least live chicks. I am impatiently awaiting a shipment of 17 chicks from cackle, 10 French Black Cooper Marans, 5 Blue Laced Red Wyandattes, 2 Dark Brahma Roos

TSC s is horrible. I refuse to buy any chicks there.

Are the blue chicks actually blue? They look more black than blue to my old eyes.

They strongly resemble Black Australorp in my opinion.

I was under the impression that Americauna's lay easter eggs style?

I bought 5 ducklings from Tractor Supply in New Jersey everybody there is very knowledgeable and very helpful. The nice thing about buying from a store like tractor supplies that the Animals is there you don't have to deal with shipping. And when you're only looking to buy a few at a time that's the best way to go!!

Think about it like this whenever they pay someone minimum wage they're telling them I'm going to give you the least amount of money legally to do this job, on the flip side the person working the job is going to do the absolute minimum necessary.

And I'd hardly compare Walmart and Tractor Supply. Walmart has the cheapest products at the lowest price. Tractor Supply sells all sorts of quality products.

What kind of quality stuff do they have there. It’s all made in China and breaks fast. They are overpriced and hate that feed they sell, Dumor.

Fwiw, the chicks at our TSC this year looked healthy and properly labeled. They mostly had red rangers, cornish cross and then mixed tubs. The mixed bantams looked amazing. I must have been there right after the got them. It was so hard to walk away from them. There were so many colors and types.

One person recently wrote they bought chicks labelled Orpingtons at TSC and they turned out to be Appenzeller Spitzhaubens, ----you might end up with a happy surprise!

I am new to chicks, so I didn't know what I was getting into when I purchased my chicks on an impulse durring a recent trip to TSC... My "Barred Rocks" are obviously Barred, but appear to be at least two, maybe three different varrieties of barred chickens... and it's anybody's guess what my "black australorps" will be! (Unless black australorps are known to have white feathers mixed into their wings and tails when they are young?)

I have bought from TSC many times. Their prices are way under online hatchery prices, their minimum is lower too... Sadly they don't sell geese though..... The chickens I got from them were great (and the right breed...). Maybe it's just because the employees are just better trained here....

Yes, black Australorp do have a little white in the wings and sometimes in the tails too as chicks.
