Chick hatched with ruptured yolk sac

Also, oddly there seems to be no cord, just yolk sac, unless that is the cord before it is fully absorbed.

You can use dental floss and tie it off tight..Leaving some umbilical still hanging...Not sure how you feel about doing that though?.....Then you could cut or tear gently away the yolk sack that is hanging...If your scared?...Dont bother...

I am scared of hurting my baby. I have assisted an egg before on my first batch that had a red cord attached and I used heated scissors to cut it and it was fine, but unless it is causing issues for the chick (the chick with the cord kept pulling at it) I prefer to let it sort itself out.

Perfect....I'm sure it will be fine in a few hours....:highfive:
The yolk sac part has deflated since I took the pic, so it won't be long I feel. ^^ Silly thing wanted to be in the world so badly he couldn't wait the next couple of hours!

The cord has shriveled up and looks like it'll drop off at any moment now. :)
