CROCHET BABY AFGHAN SHOWER PROJECT signups NOW OPEN & On Going

I FINALLY GOT A SIZE "G" HOOK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sorry It took so long, but all the stores nearby stopped selling them last year or the year before, so all of a sudden there aren't any crochet hooks to be had.

Ara that's fine as long as you feel you can afford to do this.

I don't want anyone to be pressured or feel uncomfortable with the the situation of expences (sp?)

I would have sent you one, wish you had asked! Have you got the yarn? The Vanna baby yarn is on sale at Michaels' right now 2 for 5 bucks..at least the flyer I got sunday is advertising it that way.

We don't want to be sending an afghan to those that don't wish to get one.
I can't imagine that someone would really not want a handmade afghan with booties and cap , but who knows.

boy I so agree..alot of time, work and expense for someone to not appreciate...but yes, some folks like to stay with their own color schemes or icon theme or use what granny made instead so it is good to know for sure. Would also like for them to show pictures when they get it ..not trying to put conditions on the altruism thing but then no one does anything totally for nothing, we do it becasue it makes us feel good but the feeling good part comes alot from knowing someone was happy to get it.

Sorry, got on a tangent there....

Well got the Package ready for the Post Office Algo I hope you got some Vanna Baby Lamb or White (or some Baby Yarn close to it) for the joining and the border. If ya don't let me know,I'll try to get some to you. Let me know if ya want to join it as per the pattern or if ya want to join it like LC did the 1st one.

OK gang Amy has added another Eggspecting BYCer to the list. Thank goodness these remaining ones are due at later dates and spread out a bit

Well I don't know that it is (an "official" BYC afghan) but it is made by the BYC crocheters

As I said " as long as you feel you can afford to do this.

I've got some sport weight yarn that is similar in weight to the Vanna's baby....but in bright primary colors. I might use that for some....will likely make enough squares for 2 afghans!!! Bought it for a project and then didn't like the project after all lol.

Yes I love the smiley

Baby Yarn Please ,,,, Not Sport weight some of it just isn't soft enough.. Thanks

Karen I have some "Simply Soft Caron" white yarn that is really soft.
I am using the same yarn but lavander color for my cousins babyghan and its really soft and pretty. Unless you wanted me to use something else thats what I was planning to use.

As far as the pattern for putting the blanket together, I was going to do a sc around every square as a trim then connect them. The outer trim I was going to do what my mother calls a shell pattern but I don't know if that is real name or not but is pretty. Looks kind of like what LC did I think.
